FAQs

How much does a session cost? Do you take insurance?

My 1:1 sessions are $250 for 50 minutes. My couples sessions start at $300 an hour.

I’m considered out of network for insurance purposes. In some cases I can offer you a superbill that you may submit for reimbursement. Most clients pay out of pocket.

Are you South Asian? I’m looking for a therapist who “gets me”

Yes, I’m 2nd gen South Asian. You want to feel like your culture and family dynamics are understood. I get it. I work with other South Asian clients on issues such as gaining self esteem, trusting yourself, discovering family dynamics, shifting unhelpful patterns, setting boundaries, dating, marriage, in-law issues, moving towards more secure relationships, breaking cycles of criticism and shame, handing down good patterns to your kids. And yes, I know this work on a deeply personal level, too.

I really want to work with you, but I’m a student. Do you have a sliding scale?

I occasionally take on students at a reduced fee.

Do you recommend weekly sessions?

I am all for short-term therapy. I like to initially build a strong foundation with clients and then revisit therapy on an as-needed basis. But at first, I recommend doing weekly sessions to have a chance to dive deeply into problem solving, experiential work, creating new patterns and setting reachable goals.

Do you do intensives?

  1. I offer 20-hour intensives. Both couples or individuals can do 2 or 3 hour sessions for 10 sessions in total. Intensives are pre-paid and we will put our 10 sessions in our calendars. You can use couples intensives as individual sessions as well. Since intensives are just that - “intensive”- I recommend that we do all 10 sessions within a short timeframe such as 5 weeks.

  2. I also offer couples one single intensive sessions for 2 or 3 hours. These sessions are good if you feel stuck in your relationship or your couples counseling journey and want hands-on coaching to discern what work you need to do in your relationship.

My partner doesn’t want to come to therapy, should I start therapy by myself?

Yes!

You are part of the relationship. If you try to become healthier in any way, you will either get your partners attention or you will shift the relationship through your newfound strengths. Either way, individual therapy can help you understand your relational patterns.

I’m a therapist, can I consult or train with you?

Yes, we can do a 1:1 consult for $250 an hour. You can also join my Professional Consult Group for South Asian therapists. Please get in touch to book a consult with me.

What is your approach?

I am always learning, so I bring an eclectic and integrative approach to our work together. But mostly, I am collaborative and experiential. I value your truth and look to use the wisdom you already possess in order to help you grow. Most importantly, I am on this journey with you: I offer you skills and experiences that have benefitted me greatly over the years.

  1. I work 1:1 with you in either short sessions (of 50 mins) or intensive sessions (2-3 hours).

  2. I offer you homework or neuroscience-informed resources to deepen our work together.

  3. We identify your patterns and develop resonant strategies based on research and neuroscience that will give you a roadmap to feeling more securely attached, more confident, and more boundaried.

  4. I collaborate with my clients, I do deep experiential work; and I do more than just listen. If this sounds good, then get in touch!
