Cultivate the most important relationship of your life

The Seven Principles Program is based on Dr. John Gottman's 40 years of research with over 3,000 couples. His work has revolutionized the field of couples therapy and served as the backbone of couples therapy practice world wide. This workshop distills Dr. Gottman's empirical evidence of what actually makes relationships last into an intensive workshop featuring practical strategies.

In this workshop you and your partner will learn how to:

  • Increase romance & intimacy
  • Manage conflict constructively
  • Build deeper connection
  • Gain skills to address problems
  • Create shared meaning
  • Maintain gains throughout your lifetime

Build a life together that is based on deep friendship, healthy dialog, and a shared vision.

Is this workshop for us?

At some point in time, every couple, regardless of age, ethnicity, or orientation will encounter what Dr. Gottman calls "The Four Horsemen":

  1. Contempt
  2. Stonewalling
  3. Criticism
  4. Defensiveness

This workshop teaches practical skills (such as the antidotes to the Four Horsemen) and other tools to help couples further strengthen already healthy relationships, and to repair relationships that may need stengthening.

Couples that would benefit from this workshop:

  • Engaged or pre-marital couples
  • Couples with strong, healthy relationships
  • Couples who want to work on or repair a relationship
  • LGBT couples
  • Any committed couple interested in working on their relationship
  • Those needing better conflict management tools

This workshop is inappropriate for couples experiencing:
Severe relationship distress, significant emotional or physical abuse, serious emotional or physical abuse, relationships where one partner is seriously addicted to drugs or alcohol, and relationships with serious compulsive behavior with gambling, sexual action out, and other disruptive behaviors.

In these situations, couple or individual counseling may be more effective.
